What is Bluetooth®?
A:
Bluetooth is the name of a wireless technology standard which allows different types of electronic devices to interact via short-range radio waves. Because of the versatility of Bluetooth wireless technology, enabled devices do not share all of the same profiles. The Bluetooth Handsfree System™ system is compatible with Bluetooth-enabled phones that have a hands-free profile. The standard allows a wide range of devices to communicate with each other, with minimal user effort.

How do I answer a call using Bluetooth Handsfree System?
A:
TO ANSWER A PHONE CALL:
  1. After pairing is complete, your phone need only be in the vehicle and turned on. You can now answer calls without touching the phone.
  2. When the Handsfree System prompts you that an incoming call is coming in, when available the call id information will be displayed.
  3. Press and release the "Pick Up" button on the steering wheel if you want to accept the call. The audio system automatically switches to hands-free mode. Begin talking.
  4. Press the “Hang-Up” button on the steering wheel when you are finished with your call.

How do I make a call using Bluetooth Handsfree System?
A:
TO PLACE A PHONE CALL:
  1. After pairing is complete, your phone need only be in the vehicle and turned on. You can now make calls without touching the phone.
  2. Press and release the “Speech” button on the steering wheel and wait for the beep before speaking. The audio system automatically switches to hands-free mode.
  3. Say “Call or Dial.” The vehicle will ask what name or number you would like to call.
  4. After the beep say the number you would like to call. The vehicle will confirm the number
  5. After the beep say "yes" if the number is correct if it is not, then say "no" and the system will prompt you to re-enter the number you would like to call
  6. After your conversation, press the “Hang Up” button. The audio system automatically returns to its prior mode.

Q:
How is the performance of the Bluetooth Handsfree System in comparison to my cellular phone?
A:
The Bluetooth Handsfree System is using your cellular phone service so the same level of service will apply i.e. if you experience static on your cell phone due to low signal strength then you will also experience static on the Bluetooth Handsfree System.

Q:
I can't find the commands for the "voice training" feature to help make the Handsfree System recognize my voice better?
A:
Speaker enrollment requires 45 phrases to be spoken. To view or print the list of commands, click here (PDF). To activate the voice training feature within the handsfree system, press the SPEECH button and wait for the beep, then say "voice training". The system will then guide you through the process.
